Supervisory Control of Families Oflinear Set - Point Controllers - Part
نویسنده
چکیده
| A simply-structured high-level controller called a `supervisor' has recently been proposed in 1] for the purpose of orchestrating the switching of a sequence of candidate set-point controllers into feedback with an imprecisely modeled siso process so as to cause the output of the process to approach and track a constant reference input. The process is assumed to be modeled by a siso linear system whose transfer function is in the union of a number of subclasses, each subclass being small enough so that one of the candidate controllers would solve the set-point tracking problem , were the process's transfer function to be one of the subclass's members. In 1] it is shown that in the absence of unmodelled process dynamics the proposed supervisor can successfully perform its function fi.e., achieve a zero steady state tracking errorg even if process disturbances are present, provided they are constant. This paper proves that without any further modiication, the same supervisor can also perform this function in the face of norm-bounded un-modelled dynamics and moreover that none of the signals within the overall system can grow without bound in response to bounded disturbance and noise inputs, be they constant or not.

Partial Observation in Distributed Supervisory Control of Discrete-Event Systems
Distributed supervisory control is a method to synthesize local controllers in discrete-eventsystems with a systematic observation of the plant. Some works were reported on extending this methodby which local controllers are constructed so that observation properties are preserved from monolithic todistributed supervisory control, in an up-down approach. In this paper, we find circumstances in ...
متن کاملDiscrete-time supervisory control of families of two-degrees-of-freedom linear set-point controllers
This paper describes a discrete-time “high-level” controller, called a “supervisor,” capable of switching into feedback with a discretetime single-input/single-outpu (SISO) system, a sequence of linear twodegrees-of-freedom (2-DOF) set-point controllers. Each controller is selected among a family of candidates so as to cause the output of the system to approach and track a constant reference in...
متن کاملSupervisory predictive control of power system load frequency control
Objective: The objective of this paper is to develop a hierarchical two-level power system load frequency control. Design: At the button level, standard PI controllers are utilized to control area’s frequency and tie-line power interchanges. At the higher layer, model predictive control (MPC) is employed as a supervisory controller to determine the optimal set-point for the PI controllers in th...
متن کاملHierarchical Control Strategy for an Integrated Wastewater Treatment Plant
This paper presents the design of a hierarchical control system consisting of a model based centralized supervisory controller and a group of embedded controllers for a set of integrated biological reactors, which is a part of NASA’s advanced regenerative wastewater treatment system. A first principle model developed by [Zhang and Hoo, 2007] is used to design the centralized model predictive co...
متن کاملSupervisory predictive control and on-line set-point optimization
The subject of this paper is to discuss selected effective known and novel structures for advanced process control and optimization. The role and techniques of model-based predictive control (MPC) in a supervisory (advanced) control layer are first shortly discussed. The emphasis is put on algorithm efficiency for nonlinear processes and on treating uncertainty in process models, with two solut...
